Haifa Port
The main and largest seaport in Israel, since its opening in 1933, has served as a major key in the development of the city, and north part of Israel. Adjacent to the port there is also the industrial area of Haifa, the refineries and the chemical industry.
It’s a natural deep water port, and serves both as a cargo port and for cruise passengers.
At the port there is the passengers terminal (Gate num #5). next to Gate #5 is the train station (Hashmona), which opens for 24H, and is just 1 hour ride to Tel Aviv.
The port of Haifa, is located near the old part of the city – The Downtown, near the municipality of Haifa. It is a commercial area, and famous for the "Rehov Hayamaim" - the sailors street, where the sailors sells their goods for cheap price ( but this street now loses its magic to the city air conditioned shopping malls.
In a walking distance from Haifa port passengers terminal, you can visit the German colony – which becomes one of the main tourists attraction of the city.
There you can enjoy the view of the amazing Baha'i gardens, and can even visit the lower part of the gardens.
