The Golan Heights, located in the north eastern part of Israel, is an elevated plateau that starts rising from the south part of the Sea of Galilee towards the highest point in Israel: Mt Hermon. Visiting the Golan Heights gives you an opportunity for a bird view over the northern part of Israel.
If you happen to be at the area of the sea of Galilee you can ascend to the Golan heights via one of its wide roads. If you got only one hour you should consider a visit to the "Peace Vista" at " Cfar Haruv", from there you can see the Sea of Galilee and look all the way to Mt Tabor & Nazareth.

If you are interested spending more time, you might drive all the way to Mt. Bental, and from there have a bird view over the Israeli – Syrian border, visit a bunker and visit one of its famous wineries.
