Capernaum - The town of Jesus

Capernaum: the town of Jesus during the last three years of his life.

Here you can actually walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

The village, located at the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, is famous for its fertile land, being adjacent to the river Jordan delta. It was the place for many fishermen. Here Jesus called his first disciple Peter (Simon) and he lived there and preached to those people to repent. unfortunately most of them refused and Jesus upbraid those people that this village "will go down to the depths" (Matt 11: 23).

Walking around the excavated area you can see this prophecies coming up from the ground.

Most people visit the synagogue and the ruins of St.Peter mother in law house that became one of the world first churches.
